I think I already know the answer, but, will an auto tranny from a 6 cyl. bolt up to a 351W or 351C? Don't laugh. I honestly don't know. And that my friends is why I'm not a mechanic and also why I have you guys!

Physically, yes it will bolt up. May not last very long, but if you're cash strapped, go for it, and be easy on the gas.

Yes, Bell housing bolt pattern is the same, but I don't know what you would do in the case of the torque converter. Will the pilot shaft be the same , and would the flywheel to converter be the same, maybe you could opt. for a good c-4 or c-6 instead! Good luck.
