I have just seen a heavy gauge stamped steel plate that bolted directly over the top of the gas tank of 65-73 Mustangs. I have seen ads for the one that bolts behind the backseat, but does anyone know where I can find this type? Thanks, Charlie

That was in one of the recent Mustang magazines. I'll find it in a little bit. ------------------

I have the one that goes over the tank. It weighs 27 lbs and comes with the hardware. It is in my 68 cv not installed. Perfect fit. The other one is OK for cpes. Jim Smart at M&Fords installed BOTH in his 67 cpe-probably 'cause he got them both to do the article. I got it at the Antioch Mustang Stable in Mesa, Az. 602-357-1006. It's a little pricey but not when you consider the quality of the piece and cost to make- for an item that is not hi-volume. It wont keep the car from getting totaled in a hard hit, but it's strong enough to deflect it and keep the gas from getting inside of car. I paid 160.

Yeah, I have bought one of the panels that goes behind the seat. You can weld or bolt it in your car. It is sold by Canadian Mustang. Here is their US toll free number: 1-866-717-7711. I got mine about 2 years ago for about 70 dollars. Easy installhttp://www.canadianmustang.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=BigRed2000&Category_Code=Rear+seat+divider+panel ------------------ '65 Mustang Black/Black Pony Interior 289 4V 4 speed Manual Weiand Dual Plane,AFR 165cc, Comp Cam Pro Magnum Rocker Arms, 3.55 Rearend, 2.5 inch exhaust with headers and loud!
