ive got a C-6 trans bolted to a 390 in a 69 Torino. ive got the shift linkage bolted up from the shifter to the trans but where the shift linkage is connected there is another rod coming off it on the same part of the trans and i got the trans kickdown out of the car. i didnt disconnect this stuff so i dont know where it goes. if some knows could they tell me what that rod attached to the trans connects to and how and what the kickdown is connected to.

Welcome to M&M Seth ! The "other" rod connects from the trans to another small lever on the carb. It is for the passing gear kickdown. It has to be a spec Ford type carb that has that kickdown linkage provision.

You should have a kickdown rod which connects the carb kickdown linkage with the trans kickdown linkage.
