As you guys know there are many "projects" going on simultaneously while under a complete resto. Here's a problem I have with the ignition switch. How the @%*% do you remove the ignition switch without the key? The guy couldn't find it. Also, while we're here. I'm having trouble getting the dash harness connection off from the back of the switch. Any suggestions? Tony C* P.S. Tony, The only way I can think of is take it to a locksmith and see if he can get it out. Otherwise replace the switch, which might be the cheaper way out. ------------------ Ronnie 69 mach1 351W-4V 70 Torino GT 351C-4v with a "shaker" Mustangs and More Member #23

Hey an easy method I used once,Was to screw a dent puller into the key hole and give it a couple of slaps (I watched gone in sixty seconds one too many times). You will probably ruin the ignition switch, which I'm sure you're replacing anyway,You might damage the bezel as well.Once the key portion is out the rest is cake.Oh yea to get the harness off of the back. You have to undo a small nut.Good luck.

pull your guage cluster out from the dash (if you havent already done so) unscrew the nut holding the wires to the ignition module and since you dont have a key, basically just try to pop it out with a chisel and hammer (at least thats what Id do haha)at $9, its stupidly easy to change the ignition switch --- mine broke apart in the dash randomly and after three hours of trying to put it back together WHILE IT WAS IN THE DASH (its impossible to fix whether its in or out of the dash, silly me haha ), i decided to buy a new one ------------------ CrAzY Dan~ 1965 Coupe "BeeBop" 200ci Straight "6"~2.77 3-spd w/Hurst Shifter~Pertronix Elec. Yes I am replacing the switch so I guess the best thing to do is get out the and have a go at it. It's sometimes is fun to take something off the car without haveing to worry about "saving" it. It'll be out today. While I'm there though I also have to remove the lights and the wiper knobs (convertible top button is out already) I've been under that dash already (no easy task for someone who's 6'2") and I can't seem to find where to start in taking those 2 switches out. Any suggestions? Tony C*------------------ 65 Convertible, Vintage Burgandy/Standard Black Interior, 289, 4spd M&M Member#450 It ain't done yet, but it'll be done right!!

Sorry about the double post and I solved the problem by buying a manual by Hayne's called "1964 1/2 to 1973 Mustang" They should call it "Mustangs for Dummies" I recommend it to everyone.
