I have a two piece export brace setup on my 65 coupe. I have seen the one piece braces that go under the shock mounts and have heard these are better. So I need to remove the old ones by drilling out the spotwelds on the shock towers correct? Are there any tips or advice from those that have done this before?

If you're careful, you can get them off without making holes. Drill into spot weld to weaken it a bit and a sharp chisel. I left them on as they're not THAT noticeable and they're there if I ever sell car and someone wants an original appearance. It does look better without them.

Again, thanks Mellow for your help.
I drilled and removed the old "export stubs" today. Took me a whole 45 minutes to do.
