I don't know half as much as these guys, but I'm feeling sorry for ya! As far as I know, there's a flexplate issue, and something to do with the number of thingies inside the tranny that help it bite. Anyway, I think "It needs a few mods" might be the right answer.[This message has been edited by Fastback68 (edited 01-21-2002).]

You guys are just WAAAY too much help! I have a yes, a no, and a maybe. Sounds like it will work if I have enough duct tape and bailing twine! Anyway, does anybody have a definite answer?

Jeremy, Do you need a tranny? I got a C4 sitting here, you drive up and pick it up, it yours for free. Got a flex plate and spacer to go with it. Mike

Actualy,Maybe is the right answer if you're talking about the bellhousing and flexplate fitting too. I just answered the base question, will a 6cyl c-4 bolt up to a v-8. You didn't ask if it needed a different bellhousing or flexplate, etc. Mike's offer sounds pretty good. SteveW

Sorry Bibbs! I was makin fun of Steve's answer. More'n likely it'll work if you have a C4 of each and can swap some stuff, if you have an early 2 spd strangeomatic, it won't . Mustang Monthly once did an article on swapping from a 6 to an 8. They said the 8 will bolt to the trans and work, but the 6 cyl trans will not last a long time if you modify the engine or always floor it. It has to do with internal parts of the trans I think. Save yourself a headache and get a V8 C-4 now and ditch the 6 cyl trans.

Mike, Put a BIG "Hold for Jeremy" on that tranny! You wouldn't happen to need an auto tranny for a 6cyl would ya?

What else would you expect from the "land of fruits and nuts"? I thought it was just a SoCal thing, but I guess it applies to those 3 stooges (Larry, Doc and Doc Who) from up north too!

I have a buddy that works in Hollyweird so I know where our bad rep comes from, even dogs and cats have cosmetic surgury down where he works. When the rest of the world sees California, they see it as it's represented by people that think a woman looks good with a truck tire for lips! I'm proud not to fit in with the "ideal" Califorian, and I think plastic belongs on Corvette's not on people! LOL! Then there's San Francisco. I don't know what to say about that . ------------------ 90 percent's for sissys! Don Garlits

Is that you,Larry,or Doc?Don't even get me started on the San Francisco deal. Down here we have our own version in West Hollyood.Lots of poodles and Saabs there,if you know what I mean. Don't dare go in a mens room at a gas station there as you don't know who or what ya might run into. ------------------ "Just Falcon Around" 1962 Falcon 351W 1958 Morris Minor 289

Jeremy, Its sitting here waiting, even throw in a torque converter of unknown heritage. All you have to do is take I-40 to Nashville and turn left, I-65 north to Kentucky, see how easy that is. You are almost there already. Mike

I go right by your house on my way to West Virginia to visit my sister and some aunts and uncles. My wife has been begging me to take her. I mean, my wife has been begging me to take her to Bowling Green for months. If it ever stops raining we'll head over your direction! I'll let you know before we come. Although, maybe you like surprise visits?!

Jeremy, Your beautiful wife can come to my house anytime she wants, well, maybe you ought to come with her. Just let us know when. We are exactly 5 miles off I-65 at exit 22. Mike

Hey now! I'll keep you posted. I imagine it will be sometime in the next couple months. Could you give me some measurements on the tranny/parts so I know what vehicle to drive? I don't imagine it would fit in the trunk of the Accord !
