Does anybody know if the Metuchen assembly plant is now known as the Edison plant where they build the Rangers? I know that the San Jose plant is no longer around, how about the Dearborn plant that the Mustangs were made?

I think the Metuchen plant closed in 1971, if I'm not wrong. If I am, I'm sure someone will correct me...

The Dearborn River Rouge plant is still pumping out Mustangs, but it is supposed to close when they start making the next generation Mustang in 2004 at the Flat Rock plant.

That?s what I thought, Sam. Edison is one of those townships that is a conglomerate of towns (including Fords and Nixon) for cost reduction. It is adjacent to Metuchen and I guess Metuchen was a more well known town at the time than Edison.

I know the New Jersey Turnpike?s administration building is in East Brunswick but it is always referred to as being in New Brunswick.

Anyway it looks like it will go the way of the San Jose plant and become a mall.
