First of all, let me say apologies for not visiting for several months. Second, check out my pony page. http://www.geocities.com/bibbs76/MyMustang.html

And lastly, I have noticed that on some '68 mustangs that the lights are flush with the metal, others are raised. Why is this?

Was waiting for Sam to tackle this one. On the 1st of Feb 68, give or take, Ford went to the Cougar side lites, supposedly to cut costs as they had lost a lot of coins due to the long strike at start of model year. Apparently the early markers were more expensive and it was cheaper to modify the existing dies or whatever and just have one run of side lites for Cougar AND Mustang. Apparently it was a bean counter move. I say give or take because I saw a 68 cv that had Feb 15 on data plate and a couple days before that on the buck tag and it had early markers.

Something that Jim Smart touched upon lightly in latest issue of M&Fords is the fact that things varied from plant to plant and from day to day in production of our cars.
