Ok, before I go splicing I have a question. I decided to go with a duraspark and crane setup on Kay's Cougar, and have a few ???s I've used a crane box along with a mallory dist. on my stang, but never tried one with the duraspark before... So I'm assuming the crane box will totally eliminate the stock module rather than splice in line after it, meaning I wire the crane box to the distributer directly? If so, looking at my duraspark, I have 3 wires exiting, orange, blue and black, the orange and blue go into the magnetic pickup inside, black one has no apparent connecting point, I'm assuming it's a ground. Out of the crane box, I have 2 wires in the same piece of harness, one must go to the ignition switch (sans resistor wire) the other (according to the wiring diagram) goes to the distributer in a somewhat non-specific way? Anybody have a shot at enlightening me before I start guessing here?
Dan

You mean the Crane doesn't have a different input for a magnetic pick-up? I thought the boxes always had one input for a regular points or electronic, and one input for a magnetic pick-up.

[edit] http://www.cranecams.com/instructions/electronics.htm#Ignitions The instructions say the Ford Dist. have orange and purple wires to the dist. Anyway, there should be MAG+ and MAG- wires on the box that should wire to the dist.

I know that you won't use the black wire at all. You can cut it off. You will not use the Ford Box at all.The orange goes to purple and the blue or green to the orange on a MSD. I haven't hooked my Crane up yet. So I can't tell you for sure on the right wire setup!
