After having put a slightly better cam (it's a Crane Energizer cam/lifters package) in my 351W, I've noticed "pinging" especially at lower RPM while accelerating. My timing is set at 8 degrees. Should I advance it more (if so, how much)? Or should I use a gas additive to kick up the octane?

What is your total advance? What temp. thermostat do you run? How do the plugs look(color)?

You mean advance it less. Try the best octane you can get, first. ------------------
