On the back side there should be a casting number, cast into the flywheel. Then on the backside there might be a number metal stamped into the outer area, this will be the part number. Any 289-302 will interchange as long as it has the smaller counterweight 28 ounce cast into the back. Watch out for 157 tooth or the 164 tooth. I've got a complete set up for the 164 tooth, bell housing and spacer plate. Which one did he put in? Early 65-68 or 69 used the 157 tooth.

Ok MIke,
I got it in my hands right now.
Its a 157 tooth flexplate..looks bad too.
the entire center section had broken into a 3 1/2 dia peice and separted from the plate itself.

basicly what we have is two peices..LOL.
So any 289/302 157 flexplate will do..how had have you found it to buy new ones..any nos around?

While the 67 is down Jason installed a TCI Stret Fighter Converter also.

Ok, Jason found 18 of them...LOL....

$65 each at Car Quest with discount for having the race car,,they were his sponsor at one time.

I checked onLine and they were going for $265 at Okla. Mustangs...go to Car Quest parts store and save $200 .

Sam,
You got me confused, were you looking for a flywheel or a flexplate????? Sounds like a flexplate, was there a spreader ring under the bolts? I got one if you need it.

Mike, hard at work
