I need to ask about these vents because I have seen them on other cars but these vents are not on mine, What gives? I know that they were not covered because after accessing the 1/4 windows there is no sign of any mods. Thanks for any help.

I think they call that Cross flow ventelation.
Open the kick panel vents and the air exits thru those vents.(Instead of thru the rust in the (enter location here)) lol

Wayne, they are for letting the air escape when you slam the door.

Why are they on '70 and newer? It's called evolution.

Amazing! But if it's true, why do so many modern cars not have this -- or if they do, it doesn't work? You know, you're sat comfortably in the driver's seat with the windows closed, your passenger climbs in, slams the door, and you can feel the pressure in your ears! Or is it just me??

They don't make them like they used to. My F-150 is real bad for that; it almost gives you a concussion! It has vents, too.

I don't know what you guys are driving but our Lincoln and Mercurys have them. The Sable has them and they have a vent in the trunk where the bumper wraps around the 1/4 panel to let the air escape. I know this from selling the parts when they get in accidents. The Mystique and Contour have them also and I think most ford products. I know my wifes Lincoln Ls does. RAY
