With 93 or 94 octane pump gas, what's the highest compression ratio that you can comfortably use?

Depends on Cam specs, timing, type of head, etc. But a general guideline is 10-1 with cast iron heads and 10.5-1 with aluminum heads. The wilder the cam the higher compression you can run. SteveW

I'm barely able to run 10.4:1 with my 372C with quench 4V heads. If I had it to do over, I'd stick with 10.00:1. Aluminum heads allow for 1/2 to 1 full point more of compression.

I'm running 10.5-1 with aluminum heads with no problems on 91 octane. I think I could easily run 11-1 on 93.
