I have a 68 mustang 289 convt and have had a recent problem with my high pressure power steering hose. I have had the car for 3 momths and after a month i was drving one day and my poewr steering fluid was leekin all over. The next day i took it to my mechanic and he said i need a new hose. I ordered a new Repro hose from Cj pony parts and had it put on. A week later it started leekin again. Man was I pissed. I took it again to my mechanic and when he put the car on the lift he noticed that when he turns the wheel in either direction all the way the pitman arm hits the metal part of the power steering hose. He said he cant fix it cus he cant modify the hose to fit its against the shops rules. He put it on and i drove it home. Now its sitting in the grage and i have no idea how to fix it. Has anyone had this problem before please help?

thanks
JON

Jon,
Have you looked at it yourself? The reason I ask is sometimes it just barely hits these repro lines and they need to be moved around a little. Most of the time you can bend these with your hands.

It's not hard to bend. Just do it a little at a time. But before you do that, try loosening the fitting and turning the hose. You may find the clearance you need.

Jon,
If you need to replace this hose check with NAPA before ordering from a mail order parts Vendor..much closer to home,I replaced mine with no problems..
