Hey, I'm restoring my 68 mustang to be a daily driver. It came with a 302 w/ c4 trans.(not original). To be more economical I was planning to install an AOD, but my friend offered to sell me a rebuilt c6 trans. from a lincoln for $50(guaranteed to work). I have tried it and it most definitely works. I prefer not to swap the engine and I know the c6 should fit,so my question is which transmission would be more economical w/ a 302???????????------------------ 68 MUSTANG COUPE

I'm not the resident expert -- I only pass on what I learn, and most of that I learn right here I think the boys will tell you to forget the C6. You'll lose too much horsepower getting the thing to turn, and efficiency will inevitably suffer. That said, $50 for a guaranteed C6 is a steal! Simon

well if u want fuel econmy go for the aod but the c6 does use less power to run than the aod and is stronger so it deponds on what u really want out of it :------------------ Josh 67 coupe with 351c 94 Explorer 30 model A currently rustbucket in process 67 convt with efi 5.0 and t5

the C6 is over kill for your motor unless you are making more than 600 hp. i say go with the aod and 3.50 gears and have a blast.
