Alex, Jason has a stock 6 banger rear end n(4 lugs) 3.20 to 1 in his 67 mustang..now the motor is a transplant 289 271 hipo, headers RPM intake and a stock C-4Hows come this sucker leaves 2 25 foot long marks on the pavement from wheel spin and a nice patch for 2nd gear on both wheels. Its an open rear end right sam

Sam it could a a posi or a 4 pinion carrier. It is an 8 inch drop out correct? The third member may have been changed at one time or another. Jack it up in the rear and see it both wheels spin in the same direction. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00 & '01 Fleet of FoMoCo products Moneymaker Bio US Class Nationals link

Sam, Jason may want to put five bolt rear lugs and disc brakes to help stop that monster. It's also pretty bad that he has better gears than you. LOL Sorry Sam. I couldn't resist. Alex I don't think its an 8inch.Jason just came in..he says it has 8 bolts on the rear pan. She'll handle the power with no problems (so far) sam

OK, it's a 7 1/4 six cylinder Falcon rear end for certain then Sam. Still could be a posi though. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00 & '01 Fleet of FoMoCo products Moneymaker Bio US Class Nationals link

You might want to think about upgrading (swapping for an 8? or 9?) that rear. I had a 67 6cyl car that I swapped a worn 351W 2V and I grenaded those small gears in the unit when I laid a patch down.
