New to the board and a 1968 Mustang owner, 289, auto, air, PS and brakes. Have a question that may sound funny but here goes. The lines coming into and out of the bottom of the radiator from the auto trans, do they carry anti-freeze from the radiator to the trans for cooling or do the lines carry auto trans fluid from the trans to the radiator to cool? Have to remove my radiator to clean the core as when flushed it some engine residue [rusty metal chunks] broke loose and is stuck between the cooling rods all through the radiator.

The lines have transmission fluid in them. They run the trans oil through the radiator. It cools the trans in the summer, and warms the oil in the winter.
