Anyone? I'm looking for a galss hood that would require minimal prep, and ideally came in a black gel cost so I could bolt it on and use it, with paint and true fitment to come later. Extra points for the ability to use stock hood latch (and not crack out after many miles...) and having steel reinforced hinge sections. Thanks guys ------------------ Marcus "We are coming after you. God may have mercy on you, but we won't," Sen. John McCain

The Maier racing hood has all the features you are looking for. Like all the glass hoods it does require prep though. The area around the scoop usually need to be built up a bit if you want smooth lines. I've purchased two hoods from them. You can see it in the pics I posted a few days ago. It has steel inserts and I'm using the stock latch as well as hood pins.

I use a Maier 2.5" cowl hood, and am not impressed with the fit. Yes, it bolts to the hinges and latches at the front, but if you are looking for show quality fit and finish, you'll be disappointed.------------------ Mike Burch 66 mustang real street 302 4-speed 289 heads 10.63 @ 129.3 http://www.geocities.com/carbedstangs/cmml_mburch.html http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/healey/367

How about Charles Crites, Crites Restorations. My friend bought on for his 66 Fairlane. It is beautifully finished top and bottom. RAY------------------ RAY . Thanks for the input guys I'm not looking for show quality, its more about function over form as I'll need it to clear the intake and carb combo on the new motor, but having it fit well is important ------------------ Marcus "We are coming after you. My hood had some work done by the body shop to look good. It also needed to be sanded on the edges to get a good fit.

I expect some prep work, I just need to make sure the thing is clse enough to fitting that I can bolt it on and go till I get the motor sorted, then take it off and get it painted. Anyone have side view pics of a tear drop on a 67-8? ------------------ Marcus "We are coming after you. God may have mercy on you, but we won't," Sen. John McCain
