Hey All,Dad and I are trying to make the car look new again and I had a few questions regarding engine detailing. What do you guys use to clean the 30 year old dirt and gunk off of the motor and engine compartment? Also, where can I find "satin black" paint (non spray)? We're just planning on detailing the paint since most of the compartment paint is in good condition. So far the engine compartment looks pretty clean, but we were trying to achieve that show quality finish, so any help you guys could offer would be appreciated. Any tips or maybe websites that discuss it. Thanks again guys. Regards, Erik

"Gunk" works pretty well, so does dishwashing liquid. Most semi gloss black works well, Rustoleum is good. You can buy it by the can and thin it. I think Gary mentioned a while ago that Polane {was it by Sherwin Williams?} was bullitproof. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 M code 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 open '72 Mustang Sprint Coupe 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Lok '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip '97 Probe GTS 2.5L DOHC PROUD TO BE AMERICAN!!!
