I am looking for a fold down seat for my 68 fastback. I was told by someone selling parts that the 69-70 shelf (the part that gets the carpet) is the same from 67-70. Can anybody verify this? If it is the same, did the 69-70 not have chrome trim because the reproduction chrome trim is only advertised for 65-66 with a caveat that it needs a couple holes need drilled for it to fit 67-68, and no mention of 69-70 fitment. Also, if the chrome trim will fit from 65-68, then wouldn't the shelf (the part that gets the carpet) also be the same from 65-68. There is a local junk yard that has a 65 with a shelf in it still and also a 70 with a shelf in it still.

My car will never be concours, but whatever I go with I want it to at a minimum have a good fit and maybe even pass for belonging there.

Also, I understand that the fiberglass side panels are definitely different, but what about trap doors and latches?

Thanks for any info.

I doubt they interchange. They all seem to have specific part numbers. There quite a difference in size among the cars.

yeah, I'm concerned about that. I know the owner of the yard, so was going to ask him if it would be ok for me to trial fit the shelf's, and if they don't fit put them back, and if one does fit, pay and take it.

I dont't think that there is much different between the widths but tomorrow will measure the width of the 68 and the 65. I will measure the width behind the seat down by the frame. There has to be some differences, though. For one thing, all the vendors of used parts list two different trap doors. Have you called around to any used parts guys yet? Cpe and cv rear seats are the same from 65-68. I installed the drain gutter in the rear from a 67 and replaced the rusted one in a 66. I even used the 67 chrome mldgs and used the 67 top boot.
