I came across some Production Numbers in one of my newer books today. These are not the general numbers that I have always seen, but go as far as how many luxury and bench seat cars where built. So I thought I would share these numbers for all of our '65 & '66 Mustang owners.1965 Early (1964 1/2) Coupe 95,705 Convertible 28,833 Total 127,538 1965 Fastback 71,303 Fastback, Luxury 5,776 Coupe 372,123 Coupe, Luxury 22,232 Coupe, Bench Seat 14,905 Convertible 65,663 Convertible, Luxury 5,338 Convertible, Bench Seat 2,111 Total 559,451 1966 Fastback 27,809 Fastback, Luxury 7,889 Coupe 422,416 Coupe, Luxury 55,938 Coupe, Bench Seat 21,397 Convertible 56,409 Convertible, Luxury 12,520 Convertible, Bench Seat 3,190 Total 607,568 I can not tell if Shelbies are included in these numbers or not. I can verify that the total production numbers do match up with other sources. Interesting. Enjoy. Dave & Terri [This message has been edited by Dave Gibson (edited 07-22-2001).]

LOL Mike. I'm going by the "Book", actually. The "Book" is using the Body Style Codes, (IE 63A, 63B, 65A, 65B, 65C, 76A, 76B, & 76C). Could this mean, the Deluxe Interior and appointments? Dave & Terri

They sure did. That's what the Pony interior{luxury decor option] was. I just went out and looked at the data plate on my car. 76 B is Pony Interior 76 A is standard interior {cv} and so on. The rarest one is the 66 Pony Int. fastback. In the data decoder book, it is refered to as Luxury bucket seats because Pony Interior was not available from the fact. with bench seat. I remember a big row at Cypress Gardens show when a guy tried to claim that his pony interior bench seat was fact.

Interesting: The data books, etc call the Pony Interior Luxury, but I just got out my 66 Brochure and the Pony Interior is referred to as "Interior Decor Group" Sorry for the above error. Not that it's that important but......maybe they're both right. LOL!
