Topic: 8" VS 8.8" rear

Any opinions on what is the "stronger" rear...the old 8" ford or the newer 8.8"..
Talking stock limited slip...without upgrades.

Eddie,The 8.8 is a lot stronger than the old 8".  SteveW

id have to agree the 8" is strong but no match for the 8.8" rear ------------------

never had a problem with either one eddie.i guess if you are turning crazy horse power then you don't want either, go to a 9"..
but mild horse power 350hp to 450hp either rear will do fine.....------------------

Thanks guys.....very informative...my 8" Limslip 3.55 is holding up..(knock on wood)but I thought I may be pushing the envelope...------------------
