Hey guys, what weight gear oil is supposed to be used in the toploader and in non-posi rear ends? I think most places carry two weights, like a 80W90 and 85W140 or something like that, its been awhile since I picked some up.Actually, I go through this about every two years or so when one or the other could use being topped off and I have to ask which one to buy. This time I promise to write it down. Incidently, I pulled the plug on my rear end today and gear oil gushed out. Is it possible my vent line is plugged up and the housing is pressurizing? I normally just fill it up enough that I can reach oil with my pinky, and it would be impossible for me to have filled it to above the fill plug last time I filled it.

Sig,Regular 80-90 gear oil is fine for both the toploader and the rear. If your oil level is high, you may have picked up some water. I'd drain it and refill. Good luck, SteveW
