can anyone help me, I have a problem. I purchased 2 used doors for my 65 fastback & when I went to swap them on today it turns out the replacement doors take a smaller thread diameter bolt. Under where the door panel would be there is a stamping that reads on the r/s door it says 2 7 3w & on the l/s doors it says 2 19 3w. Does anyone have an answer?. Thanks Mike.

I'm sorry, I don't know what the stampings mean.

Can you just subsitute the smaller bolts and make it work?

Oh Boy! Well, it seems as though you may have bought 64'5 or early 65 doors. I had this happen on a 66 when I was restoring it. You will need to get bolts that will fit the cages in the doors. If, for example your car had the smaller bolts, you could change the bolts plates that are in the cowl pillar. I keep thinking I may be missing something. 64'5's have fine thread bolts throughtout{SAE} and are a pain in the a**! A good hdwe supply may have some bolts if you can't find Ford bolts. Napa has bolt drawers. Try to use grade 8
