So far I havn't wired my Rally-Pac tach up with the MSD. Do you use the tach output or do you need one of the MSD tach adpators. Or can you still connect it between the ignition and coil as normal?

I am interested in the answer to this question as well. I screwed up the factory tach in my 71 Mach trying to get it to work with the msd and no tach adapter...now that I have another one, I am scared to mess with it until I know for sure what will work. Are 71 factory tachs "negative" triggered? I have already bought a Tach Adapter but would like to hear from someone who has a 71-73 with MSD to see how they have it wired up...

I hooked up my shelby dash tach to my msd and required the $50 msd adapter.I had to get msd tech boys on the phone becouse the diagrams were so conflicting.

A bit off topic but: I have the crane fireball ignition and had to buy the tach adapater to work with the factory tach in my 69 Cougar. The instructions from Crane said specifically that I could try the tach output on the box and see what happens. Well, it didn't hurt my tach but the output on my box stopped working. Crane replaced the box though without a second thought - very happy about that.
Seems to me that the current triggered tachs will require adapters for any type of ignition box.
