My 66 was originally a 6, then converted to an 8 cylinder. I'm in the process of replacing harnesses and have hit on some rigging done by the previous owner.I have three harnesses coming out of the firewall. Two have plugs- lights and guages- the third appears to run through from the passenger side of the firewall. I'm ok with the harnesses that plug into the firewall, but the previous owner has the third, four wire harness all spliced together in bizarre and uncomprehensible ways. Only wiring diagram I have is in a Hayes manual for 8 cylinders. Specific questions: where do these wires go? There are 2 red with blue stripes, and 2 orange with black stripes. Like colored wires are paired and end in plugs, that don't appear to have mates. Other words, PO just spliced into these four wires without using the plugs. Is this a 6 cylinder harness? Corn-fused in BR. Thanks again- JimO

The red and blue ones should be the neutral start safety switch. As for the orange and black my best guess is that it should be the reverse lights but doesnt match the colors on any diagrams I have.------------------ Tim M&M Member #35 1965 Mustang coupe, 200 ci w/ a Holley 2300, Clifford header, and true duals w/ 26" Smithys 1988 Mustang GT AOD vert, totally stock for now, 15.810 @ 88.871 mph 100% bone stock with no traction 1976 Silverline Comoro 18' trihull ski boat, 188 hp 302 I/O, everyone needs more toys http://all.at/mustang https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/I65Stang.html [This message has been edited by I65Stang (edited 06-09-2001).]

Thanks much, Tim- The tranny I stuck in didn't have a neutral switch so not hurt there. Think that either of these are hot? (No battery in yet).Gonna order a book of diagrams Monday. Care to recommend one? Thanks again- JimO

JimO, The Jim Osborn Manuals are great. Lots of detail and large diagrams. Use the link at the top of the page here on M&M. Dave & Terri ------------------ 66 "C" Code Coupe (Sally) MCA#47921 M&M #166
