 I just got the rebuild kit for the clutch equalizer bar, What is the purpose of the large felt washers?? Do you lube them or something.  Thanks, any advice on the z-bar refirb will be appreciated.

 The large felt washers help hold grease into the ball pivot areas, and keep dirt out.  A primitive seal for the ends of the z-bar.  Did you get new plastic pivot balls?SteveW

 I got the plastic bushings as well. How to lube the washers, and with what ?   Thanks

 Use wheel bearing grease inside the tubing and around the "balls".  Don't grease the felt washers, that'll happen on its own.  Good luck   SteveW

  That's a great idea, my CJ-7 Jeep is that way from the factory.  Just keep the tube full of grease.    SteveW
