I'm helping a friend look for a 65,66cp with 4spd. Well yesterday I found two but in talking with the owners of each car, it appears I've found one of each. Is one better than the other? The car will be a daily driver, no big time performance mods.

If I'm not mistaken Joe, the 65 Shelby 350's ran T10 trannies.....so they can't be all that bad !!!------------------ Conciousness - that annoying time between naps. True, but the toploader is still the better tranny. They were used behind the 428 CJ's. Besides isn't a T-10 Borg-Warner/Chebbie. SteveW

the T10 is a good tranny but shelby used it only because it was lighter. the toploader can withstand much more power.

Steve the reason the changed in 66 may have been the big cheese at FORD saying "guy's we don't supply t-10 tran's anymore here use our new design top loader" orelse

A guy I work with had a '65 mustang back in the early 70's. He hated the T-10 because he constantly was breaking them behind his 289. If you have the choice, go with the toploader!------------------
