Can anyone tell me if a C8SE-B is really a mustang 5 blade fan? I thought the "S" was for thunderbird. Saw this on ebay and the guy is touting it as a mustang fan but I don't think it is. I know physicically it will interchange, but was just curious on the code.

I assume that you're talking about the flex blade fan for small block AC cars. All that stuff is stored away in the attic and it is too hot to check. Will do it tonite.

The C8SE-B is listed for '69 Boss 302 and Cougar Eliminator with clutch, '68 Thunderbird 429 ci w/o A/C, '68-'70 302, and '69-'70 351 ci with A/C.

You are right, the S does stand for Thunderbird. Lots of the parts overlap from model to model.

OK: I went up and looked at the fan. This fan is for a 68 AC car with the big radiator. The number on my fan is

CF
C8SE - B

I also found an identical fan with a C7 part no. I know that the C 8 fan is the one that came with the car. It is a FAC car.

So the book doesn't specify if its for A/C or not for 302, huh? Judging from Pete's reply I assume it came on an A/C car, but would it have come on a non-A/C car too?

No, the Herd book doesn't specify, neither does the Hollander.

But if it's a five blade, I'd bet it was an A/C fan. Non-A/C cars got 4 blades, exclusively.
