Any tips or tricks to blacking out a hood correctly for a 69' FB? It did not come with this option from the factory, so I have no template to trace. Would it make more sense to paint it black first, then do the body color, or vice versa? Thanks for your time.

Definately paint the body first and then black out the hood. All you do is use a scotch brite pad to scuff the body paint and that will give the black something to bite to. As for the template, "Mustang Monthly" in 1999 (can't remember which month) did an article laying out all the dimensions for each year's black out.
Good luck!

Duane's got you covered on this one! That's what I'd do to.

I have the templete for the 69 mach1 hood blackout

I just have to remember where I put it! I found it and saved it for when i paint my 69 mach1, the hood is not painted correctly on it. When I find it I will scan it and let you know.
