Hello gang, I just pulled my motor back out of my 71 Mach today to make some summer modifications and have a few questions...I bought this set of headers awhile back that came coated and are supposed to fit my setup (a 351C 4V with C6 and PS) however, as you can see by these pictures the power stearing is actually smashing one of the header tubes! (dont make me feel any worse that I already do) I HAD the stupid exhaust port plates installed allong with a header gasket on either side of them that I believe made the problem much worse however I still fear that it may touch even when I remove them. I was also never happy with the wide steering ratio in this car to begin with and was wondering if there is a better steering box out there that would solve both of these problems from me while I have the motor out to fix it...?Please look at the pix below and let me know what you think...http://members.home.net/mrxerox/Header.jpg http://members.home.net/mrxerox/Header2.jpg Thanks, Sean.

Sean, I have this same problem with my dynomax headers. I added about 1/4" shims (washers) between the engine mounts and the block. If you remove the port plates it will help a little also. Good luck, Tom

There is only one power steering box for your car Sean. You're stuck with it. The engine raising and port plate dumping seems to be the best alternative. Or get rid out of the power steering altogether. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member Fleet of FoMoCo products Moneymaker Bio US Class Nationals link
