Hey guys, I am looking for the part number of the front side marker light bulbs for a 68. the local book shows an 1157 but that isn't right... help?

Yeah I am going to use the LED's I bought. See the update thread from two days ago. I got them to work decently enough...
Of coures both my local parts store say 1178A's don't exsist Guess it's off to my favorite hole in the wall Napa. He has everything

You might have to settle for 1178NA. The NA is natural amber. If you put them on both sides they will look ok. If you want original the Ford part # is c8zz-13466-a. Green Sales in Ohio has 11 in stock their phone number is 1-800-543-4959.

I just got off the phone with my father, He found a cross reference to others that work.
Now are they supposed to be clear? Or orange?

Hey Marcus, I had the same problem with my '68. I finally located the the correct bulbs (1178A) at National Parts Depot (NPD). They're $3.25 a peice.

Holy Cow!! wow,that's amazing, you can get 1157's for 1.49 a pair at Autozone. Wonder if Autozone carries that 1178.

That was my problem, Autozone doesn't carry them by that part number (1178)

The original 1178A's were painted amber. These are no longer legal (so I've been told). The only option is to use the 1178NA. The globe has an orange/yellow tint. Best thing I've found so far.

The 1178A from National Parts Depot (NPD) are the correct paitned amber style.
