Seeking your collective opinions on
shock towers - specifically: access holes
that are cut into the shock towers for
lubing the front end.
Should one avoid a car that has them?
Is there a repair?

I wouln't avoid buying one that way, because I have bought cars like that. Always welded them up. A recent 'how to' was in MMonthly. Just look for cracks that may have started as a result. Always look for cracks in the shock towers, anyway.

Same here!

Our 68 was like that - holes were blown out with a torch. Just weld a patch, little bondo and all will be fine.

Don't forget to buy the 90 degree grease nipples.
