Were the original Rally Pacs colored to match the interior paint, or were they all black?

Rally Pack's normally were color coded to the interior. Our '65's rally pack matches the red interior.

Matched the interior on every one that I have seen.

I just saw an ad for a repro rally pac, and they didn't ask for the color. Picture shown was black, so I was curious. Thanks.

They're kind of a pain to paint. Mine has been in 3 different cars. Parchment and 2 whites. It had a wrinkle finish. I stripped it and went for smooth finish to match dash.

The high profiles were black. The low profiles matched the interior. They are actually pretty easy to paint once you get the hang of it. I might as well give my website a plug! Low profiles were always color matched unless someone bought one to install over the counter. The early ones I am not sure only to say that I've seen both. They look better painted dash color. If left black, it would look like an afterthought add on.

If the words Ralleye Pac are in the middle above the column they were black and an early 65 model, the tach only had about a 90 degree sweep. If they set low on the column they were available color coded to the steering column and were the 66 model, the tach has about a 270 degree sweep.
