When my car sits for a few weeks, it starts very hard and after it does start, it sounds like the valves are misadjusted. After 5-10 minutes, it smooths out. Could this be caused by my hydraulic lifters collasping? I think my springs are much stronger than my setup requires. Is that a problem?Any other ideas on what could cause a lot of valve noise after engine sits for few weeks? Thanks, Boss66

How strong are your springs? And what are you using for a cam?

I call it "morning sickness". The lifters could be bleeding down for any number of reasons. Too much spring pressure, anti pump up lifters, improper adjustments, "race adjustment", etc. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member Fleet of FoMoCo products Moneymaker Bio US Class Nationals link
