Good day, all-Front end in nearly done and I'm getting ready to order leaf springs. I put a MustangsPlus Magna kit in, as well as some 620 (1" lowered) springs and polyurethane steering components. I'm in shopping mode now and considering leaf spring kits from either MustangsPlus or Canadian Mustang. Both are comparably priced (about $230 shipped). Lotsa questions. I'm leaning toward the mid-eye (lowered), five-leaf springs from Canadian. My thinking is that this set up will complement the lowered front springs. The car has 78-series tires on it now but I'll probably switch to 70s at some point. I'm looking to build a daily-driver with some attitude. Any other set-ups I should consider? What's the ride like with the 5-leaf (as opposed to 4-leaf) springs? Any other vendors I should be looking at? Thanks in advance- Jim O. 66 Coupe

i used the 4 1/2 standard eye springs from mustangs plus and the 620's that you have on the front my car sits level and i don't have any problems with having the rear qtrs hitting the 60's i have on back with 2 adults in the back seat if it's a driver i say don't lower the rear or you may end up with a car that's lower in back than front. I BOUGHT A SET OF HEAVY DUTY 4 LEAFS FROM CANADIAN WITH THEIR POLY SHACKLE KIT...WELL ONE OF THEIR SHACKLE BOLTS BROKE RIGHT IN HALF....WHILE BEING HAND TIGHTENED WITH A BOX WRENCH....NOT A COOL FEELING..... I SENT THEM THE BOLT...THEY WERE GREAT TO DEAL WITH....REFUNDED MY MONEY FOR THE ENTIRE SHACKLE SET (EVEN THOUGH I ONLY RETURNED THE BOLT)AND PROMISED TO CONTACT THEIR VENDOR. I'M NOT BAD MOUTHING THEM...THEY TREATED ME FAIR....BUT STILL LEFT A SUSPICIOUS FEELING REGARDING SUCH A SAFETY MATTER AND QUALITY CONTROL. STILL RIDING THE SPRINGS...NO COMPLAINTS...AND HAVE DRIVEN 'EM HARD.... JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW. EDDIE D

My advice for a daily driver is stay away from the 5 leaf the ride will be too stiff, use the 4 1/2 leaf. You say that you have the 1 in. lowering springs but have you lowered the upper control arms as well? The reason I ask is my 69 has the rear lower than the front and I can't stand that look unless it's Moneymaker with it's front end in the air, tearing up the strip ------------------ 69 351W Sportsroof Deluxe

I have been very happy with Magna 5-leaf springs on my 69 but I recently installed magna 5-leaf mid eyes on a 66 mustang and it was much to low for me,would have to have 50-series tires and much lower front end. MId eyes are for sale as I have bought new magna std. 5-leafs

I bought the standard rear leafs from MustangsPlus, and the 620s with one inch drop. The car has a nice rake to it, and rides decent.

I used stock height springs and lowered the front control arms with a wedge kit, and was surprised how much it lowered the front end. I have stock GT rear springs with a 1 inch lowering block and the car is still a tad higher in the rear than the front. -Max

Get out of the 60's gang! Fibreglass mono or bi-leaf springs is the only way to go in the new century. Alex------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator Fleet of FoMoCo's too long to list!

I need help too!! 66cp, 351w, c-4, Lowered ft control arms and neg. wedge kit. 620 1" shorter springs in front. What to put in the rear? 4 1/2 or 5 leaf and mid or standard eye? Me thinks 4 1/2 leaf with mid eye.------------------

Thanks for all the advice, guys-Goin' with the MustangsPlus '4*leaf performance springs' w/standard eye. Assuming this is what some of you have referred to as the "4 1/2 leaf spring." Alex, I called Flexi-Form- nice folks. Seems like they could make just about anything you asked for. Maybe next time. Jim O. 66 Coupe

fsiewert, from what i have seen of the mustangs plus stuff the 4 1/2 mid eye is what you should need if you want thew car to sit level if you want it higher ib back go for the standard eye. project66 what kind of price did theyou get quoted on the fiberglass springs??
