The new Blue Thunder aluminum Cleveland style heads have hit the market.
See http://www.fordpowertrain.com/openingall.htm for the first pictures.
The guy at Ford Powertrain Applications said the heads are $1600 per set
bare and the first production run is already sold out. No word on when
the next batch will be available. The new heads are available with a
"stuffed" 4V port or a raised Yates exhaust port. The intake side is
a ported version of a Yates port and requires a Yates type intake
manifold. Earlier SVO high port intakes may also work with some port
matching. Two chamber sizes will be available, 50cc and 70cc. The
50cc head is just a milled version of the 70cc head. Standard Cleveland
valve angles and lengths are used, along with standard Boss-type studs,
guideplates and rocker arms. All threads have steel inserts and screw-in
water outlet plugs are provided on each end of the head. Forgot to ask
about accessory bolt holes. The heads come with bowls sized for
2.1"/1.6" valves but will accept standard 4V sizes (2.19"/1.171"). The
only porting required is bowl blending to match the valve sizes chosen.
With 2.15"/1.65" valves, high port exhaust, and a bowl cleanup, FPA claims
360 CFM intake and 240 CFM exhaust at 0.700" lift, holding on through
0.800". The heads will work on either Cleveland, Windsor, and SVO blocks.

Dan, Excellent news.

Do the high port exhaust heads require special headers or will standard 4V headers work???

From the picture, it looks like the stock exhaust port head will take standard headers.

Those combustion chambers look very interesting.

The stuffed exhaust port takes standard 4V headers. No word on how well it flows. The high port will require custom headers in most cases.

Cool! - what about some nice 1.8 ratio rockers to match?
